Has anyone mounted a 2.5-8x36 leupold scope on a sako 85 L action length ? I want to use this scope but reading alot of mixed reviews about the short tube length and fore and aft adjustments within. My plan was to mount this scope in extra low optilock rings with the extended long front base to gain some wiggle room for proper eye relief. I would just like to hear if anyone has done this and what set up they went with as far as mounting options ? Is there more adjustability with the ringmount set ups from sako or leupold ? I like mounting as low as possible. This rifle has open sights as well so will there be any sight interference within the sight picture on the low power settings? Or do i need to be looking for a different scope with a longer tube? Let the opinions fly guys lol

I added a comment to your AO post. You may need extended bases if the main tube is too short for the mounts.

The Stoeger page seems to be down today, but Prophet River has a picture attached in the link.

I assembled a Sako 85 in 7RemMag. I wanted to mount a Swarovski Z3 3-10X42 but could only do so with an extended base and Medium height rings to raise the bezel. I did not like that set up as I prefer an optic mounted as low as possible so had to opt for a scope with a longer main tube. I went with a Z5 3-18X44 which fit easily into the one piece Optilocks as the main tube is significantly longer than the Z3 models.
