So this year I am going to pull the trigger so speak and buy a new pea shooter. I am currently shooting an older Sako AV in .300 bee and may either sell it or hand it down one of my kids. Anyway have been researching on buying a finnlight and just came across the 2014 sako catalog and noticed that they had a new synthetic black version but was disappointed to see the limited amount of calibers it was available in. Did any of you attending the shot show see this new rifle and if so ask why the limitations given the finnlight and stainless offerings?

Last questions on twist rates which I am a little confused about.. In reading about the 300wsm most information I have come across so far puts the optimum twist rate for this caliber at 1:10 but Sako uses a 1:11. This type of information never came into play the last time I really researched a rifle lol...

Thanks in advance.

My guess would be for the limited calibers in the new Synthetic Black is a trial and see how the market is. Bet in a year or 2, you will see it in other calibers. A 300WM and 7mmRM would be good sellers for people looking for the "Stealth" look.

As for twist rate, its the same as in my Sako m75ss 300WM and Greywolf 300WSM - 11". No issues. Both are AWESOME shooters with factory ammo and my reloads.
