Sako 85 Varmint

Does anyone know if the Sako 85 varmint with the Blued metal and walnut stock were ever available in Canada? All I can seem to find is the laminated fluted stainless version.

I’ve seen a few with a walnut stock but they aren’t very common. Expensive.

I've owned two of the stainless/fluted/laminated versions, a .308 and a .223, and still have the .223.
Never saw a blued/walnut one.

Thanks for the replies. They do exists, however I’ve only seen them available in the states and Australia. Laminated and blued would look pretty sharp.

I have seen both on the same rack but that was a couple years back. Not much chance of seeing that again now that the 85 is discontinued. Keep your eyes on the Exchange.

Beautiful gun I wanted one badly and searched for a long time. All I could ever find in Canada was stainless with laminated stock.

Maybe try looking for a Sako M75 V...

I've got a blued / walnut version in .204Ruger and like it better than any of the Sako 85's I've handled...

It does get a tad heavy on the long walks into our coyote sets, but the weight of it lets me see my hits through the scope

Have not handled a 75. Thought they would be more rare than an 85. An AII would also be nice.

Unless you're shooting Richardson's ground squirrels or shooting in rapid succession, a heavy barrel is not really required
