Last month I won a Sako 300 wsm in a raffle at the Guide Outfitters of BC AGM.!! Having recent shoulder injuries I was concerned about the recoil on this light weight, 6 3/8 lbs, magnum. So I started with a 150 grain bullets. What a pleasant surprise! The recoil was quite mild, somewhere around a 303 or 308. I will load up some 180 grains in a week or so but doubt if the recoil will be an issue. I really like the feel of this rifle and being so light , packing it around will not be an issue. On the down side I could not get the Burris scope to adjust so the rifle is still not sighted in.

I've had a couple A7s and ended up putting a Limbsaver recoil pad on both...it made them very pleasant to shoot. I really liked both rifles.

My Sako 300 WSM is pretty decent to shoot as well. I'd say with the 165grs that I'm shooting that it's definitely a kick but very acceptable.

I have 75 in 300wsm and at the begining it bothered me a lot but since i am reloading after developing several loads and being persistant to use the rifle i get used to it and shoot no problems.
