I have an L579 forester Garcia marked in 22-250. I am being offered an AII in .243 which is a calibre I've been looking for. I haven't had the AII in my hands yet but seen pics. My question is if the AII is the same build of rifle quality wise? What do you consider a fair price for one with sako rings in very good condition?
Thanks for your help.

pretty much the same rifle EXCEPT the All had a streamlined bolt shroud. Both pretty good but personally I prefer the All which I believe are the best of the best. .. after this Sako started using a 2 piece recoil lug arrangement and wasnt so nice (IMO).
Sako 75's have a reputation for particularly good accuracy ... but probably across the board no better than the Al,All, Alll and AIV. I have HB Varmint All in 243W with externally adjustable trigger that is pretty exceptional. Apparently some of the "A" series shipped with nylon vs steel mag followers. I have a Finnsport with that set-up but Sako offered to send me a steel follower if I preferred (FREE of charge) ... I got it but in retrospect the nylon was just fine and functioned perfectly! Thats as much as I know -- and maybe a little more for good measure!

As for price ... with Sako rings (about $75 and rifle $950 and shipping $25 and packing $25?) $1075 in good shape delivered would be ok and probably low enough to piss off the seller and high enough to make the buyer second guess themselves :) I dont see a lot of .243W offered for sale btw so I think that would be a pretty firm price - particularly since this will be all you really need for hunting in Ontario

Thanks AP. I better pony up some dough. It's a good bargain in that case. I hope I don't have to put up the forester to make ends meet but I have other varmint cals and the .243 is much more versatile. Thanks for the tips.
