I have noticed these for sale on the EE many times for around $900 give or take in what seems to be really nice shape and am curious as to why these Sakos don't demand the higher price of other Sako's

How are the older model Sako rifles made better than the new rifles?

Action preferences mostly The L61R action is very highly regarded by some.
Old wood can be much nicer than new wood, my finnbear has blonde french walnut to die for
Skipline checkering on the old stocks is very nice.
Deeper bluing

They are a very good value. Made just as good or better than the new models and at a third of the price at times.

Some can be a little heavy for their intended purpose.

x2 on the heavy. I had one in .30/06 and scoped and loaded it was pushing 10 lbs. Shot excellent though. Quality was better than the newer offerings in my opinion.
