Hi. I was curious as to the recoil on the Sako finnlight in 7 mag. The gun is light so i would assume it kicks like a mule. But maybe not. Stock design, recoil pad etc come into play so i dunno. Any input appreciated.
Thanks

I shot aloth of 7 mag, you can load modest loads, still get great ballistics, and reduced recoil. Also a bit heavier scope would help, and as you mentioned , a good pad, and your set. And if your really recoil shy, can add a mercury tube in the butt stock. I hate the look and noise of a brake, don't wanna do that, re sale would suck.

Even though its called a finnlight, its still pushing 7lbs before scope/mounts and loaded. Shouldn't be bad at all.

The finnlight in 7mm magnum shoudl really be called the finnnormal as far as weight is concerned. Recoil shouldn't be too bad, the last two years i have hunted with 300 Win Mags with full power loads that were lighter than the gun you are talking about.

My Finnlight is a 7STW and it is not a problem. I put a McMillan stock with a decelerator pad on it as well, which helped. :)

I've shot the Finnlight in 300 magnum...factory configured pad etc.
It was surprisingly tame...(full house 180 gr reloads) The stock is well designed and seems to fit well.
Given the 7mm Mag should produce slightly less recoil I'd expect it to be quite manageable in the Finn"Light???" :)
