Sako Kodiak .338win

They are a nice rig. I'm running 71gr H4350, 210ttsx, 215M in my Sako 75 .338. Very accurate load and around 2950ish.

Looks nice but the 14" lop kills it for me. I'd have to knock an inch off the stock to fit me, but I've done that before. Congrats!

Just wondering if anyone can comment on the ejection of the Kodiaks? I have read in some places that this is an 85 size L action (history of possible ejection issues) and other places say XL. I have had trouble finding the official list of action sizes for the various calibres.

Specifically wondering about scope clearance issues as has been discussed on other threads on this and other forums. Any comments would be greatly appreciated.

I don't have one, but I have one (375) here that was lent to me and the more I play with it the more I like it. They are a very nicely made rifle. Congratulations.

The Kodiak is the L size action. Only the Brown bear model has the XL, which is for rigby cals, and does not have a DM.

Can you do me a favour and carefully watch the angle of ejection and advise as to whether it "stands up" vertically into the base of the scope like my previous .270 win did? Or if it is ejected more horizontally without clearance issues? Many thanks in advance.

Thank you. I am still collecting information to narrow down which calibres in this action are of concern and which are not.

This one seems to eject perfectly out the side without any scope interference.

It's in optilocks, I personally don't use optilocks but I believe these are "lows" but would have to confirm with the owner on that one to be 100% sure.
