Sako L61R in 7mm Rem Mag convert to detachable Magazine

Sako used to sell a detachable mag conversion kit and I believe they made them for L579, L61R,AII/AIII/AIV and AV. Watch the EE, gunshows, and consider joinIng the sako collectors forum and watch their equipment exchange.

To install I believe all you did was remove your bottom metal, drive out the floorplate hinge pin, remove the floorplate, reinstall the pin, and put the bottom metal back in the gun. The mag would hook the floorplate hinge pin at the front and used the floorplate release button to hold the mag in at the back.
In my opinion they were kinda cheesy. But whatever floats your boat. Be sure not to lose your floorplate.
