I have a set of these rings. They of course clamp onto the built in dovetails on the top of the receiver.

The last rifle I tried them on - I justy could not get them to line up properly. The one ring base always is out of line with the other ring base because the dovetails are tapered. The BRNO dovetails are straight and the rings can be at any point along those dovetails (except for the locking rear one).

Is there a trick as to where to place the Leupold base/rings on the tapered dovetail.???

How do you ensure that by clamping of the ring base onto the dovetail you are not binding on the scope tube - ie - how do you know if they are misaligned after clamping?

My other Sako rifle I tried them on - I gave up and put on a set of Millets which have been excellent.

I ave these Leupolds and would like to use them if I can figure out the protocol.

Thanks

I have them on 2 sako rifles. A 270 in M995 and a 338 in L61R

Put the scope in the rings. Snug up but dont go crazy. Finger tight.
Then put the scope & rings in the dovetails of the rifle. Snug up finger tight.
Have a look at it - it should be straight.

With the dovetails loose you can slide the whole unit back and forth to get the eye relief. The rings should center themselves in the dove tails - then snug up. Then tighten.

Leupold might even have instructions - i will check for you

YES THEY DO - go to www.leupold.com/mount and watch the videos
