Sako Quad rifle

The Sako's are very nice guns. I really like the fact that if you ever wanted to shoot competively, you can take the Sako barrel off and put on a Lilja match barrel very easily.

Personally though, I would say you would be better off with an anschutz, if you are just going to be shooting the one type of round.

I haven't shot one but it there are reports from shooters who have on rimfirecentral.com Some shooters seem to dislike the plastic stock and feel the overall quality of the rifle does not justify its high price.

quad

Hi,
As noted above rimfirecentral.com is THE place to go for anything to do with rimfires.
This is just a wealth of info.
I have looked at these and would not even dream of spending this type of money. I like wood and steel on any 22 past the 350.00 dollar price tag.
Thanks
Don

I've shot the quad and its bloody light. Also, you're sort of removing the stock every time you re-barrel, so bedding is out. Finally, with the scope i was using, you had to remove it and re-zero every time you re-barrelled; the long scope interfers with how the barrel levers into the action. The dedicated Burriss quad-scope may be shorter, so it may not be an issue wit that scope.

I have looked at all of the threads on RFC and Greybeard regarding the quad.

I had a CZ452 silouhette but wanted something a bit more accurate (Sub moa consistently in windless conditions).

What rifle would you guys recommend that would be a better choice in a light to medium weight barrel?

I had posted on the Sako Finnfire and was considering getting one but now I’m looking at the Kimber Hunter instead. Less of a hassle to get Kimber. I’ve heard good things about this make of rifle. Handles very nice with a sleek stock and has a accuracy guaranty as per target supplied shot from from the rifle packaged...

Hi
I have used a Sako Quad with the Burris quad scope in Millett rings, using .22LR and .17HMR barrels. Could not use a bigger scope AND change barrels. Return to zero was close, but not exact-- still got 1" groups at 50 yds though. Accuracy was great. With .17HMR and Federal ammo, 3-shot groups at 100 yds averaged under 0.4" . Was talked out of that rifle and now have one with just .17HMR barrel. Have a larger scope , 4-16 Weaver, so find gopher heads a bit easier. Ran out of Federal ammo, but groups with Hornady are OK, about 0.5" at 100yds. Have ordered the newer 9-Rd mags. I don't particularly like the stock, but performance is the main idea! Trigger is good, which certainly helps.
