sako quad varmint

I may be wrong but I think you might be confusing the sako quad for the sako finfire. The finfire is now no longer made - there are still a few lingering around here and there though. They made several models including hunter (?) which was more lightweight, with a sporter barrel, etc, the varmint, with a heavier barrel and still a more sporter style stock, and the range model with a heavy barrel and a heavy benchrest stock I believe. A year or two ago sako replaced these with the quad, whihc are available in one model, but with the choice of getting .17HMR, 17HM2, 22mag and .22lr all in one sort of thing. If sako has come out with a new Sako quad varmint I am unaware of such an animal but please post some info on it if did :)

Thanks Paul!

Those new models look very nice. I didn't particualarily like the quad with the synthetic stock but as you mentione they look much nicer. I wonder if the lilja drop in barrels for the finnfire will fit these?

PS: Sorry topgun for the miss-information

Recently, I wrote to Sako to see if their new quad models where in Canada, but they told me that for the moment there is only the synthetic and the hunter model (with the original barrel).

They told me the varmint models will not be sold in canada, but you can still order them and wait a couple of months!

By the talk on rimfirecentral they won't be hitting the states anytime soon either...so don't hold your breath.

Near match grade accuracy is the rumor i'm hearing from the sporter's....thats good enoug for me but not for 900 bucks....and so i wait for the type of deal that the yanks are gettings (499 for single barrel rifle) as beretta is apparently giving the dealers big time incentives to move current stock. Thats the rumor.

Get me a nib .22lr here for less than 700 and i'll bite.......dealers up here getting the same incentives??????? C'mon.....you want my money...its yours.......just step up to the plate. Got about a month before i source one out from the states and get leroy's to bring it across for me.

I went to my local gun shop last week to order one. The shop was informed by the wholesaler that they don't even have it on their books yet.
