In my research for a control round feed rifle in 223. I have found the sako 85 varmint and the sako a1. Would any sako collectors be able to enlighten me on how much these go for and what a good price would be?.

You mention ‘control round feed’ … if thats a requirement be aware that the Al Sako is not control round feed and the Model 85 isnt really a classic control round feed like the pre-64 Model 70 or a Mauser M98 … there is a model of the BRNO ZKK (in 223) that is control round feed IIRC it is the ZKK 601

AP makes a good point. The Sako isn't CRF. Kinda CRF-adjacent. That being said, they are very well made rifles. An A-1 in 223 would be a great little walking around predator rifle and would be the direction that I would be inclined to go if I was in your same situation. Hell, It's the way I would go in my situation, where I have lots of 22 components and ammo, but no 223.

The only CRF rifles Sako ever made was back in the 50's when they were using Mauser actions...Thing with these actions is they were only ever made in long and short...Never a Vixen size which is an absolute perfect wet dream match for the .223 cartridge.

Like this one...HA.

As far as price goes for a Sako Al Vixen .223...They are so perfect and it seems hard to find I consider them priceless.
