I just picked up three used but very mint Sako rifles, one is an A1 Varmint in 222 Remington, one is a L579 Varmint in 22-250, and last one is a single shot 6mm PPC. All three will take the Opti Locks, but are there other good ring options for less than $170(ish)? I am not afraid to spend the money, just curious if there are other options. Thanks.

I would reject any mount that uses a seperate base on a rifle with integral bases - plus most of them use setscrews on the top that often mark up the receiver. I've passed on some rifles because of these marks, and resold some when I discovered them. But that's just my $0.02. I will stick to sako ringmounts, leupolds, and warnes.
Interesting design. Scope could be QD then with a better chance of staying zeroed compared to the ring mount set up.

Leupold ring mounts work fine on my Sako AV and 85 rifles. Simpler and lighter weight than Optilock's.

These look good. I assume the angular design of the dovetail stops them from slipping forward?
