Wondering if people have an opinion whether the new Sako S20 or Tikka T3X TAC A1 is superior.

I know that Tikka is technically Sako’s discount brand (although still far from cheap), but the S20 is actually cheaper than the Tikka.

Don’t imagine that either the TAC A1 or the S20 are in the TRG class.

Go with the TRG (if that's what your looking for). I bought a tac a1 hoping it would fill my TRG void, but having owned a TRG previously I ended up selling the tac a1 and bought another TRG.

Personally didn't like the stock of the tac a1 and I preferred the wider trigger on the TRG to the stock one on the TAC A1.

But if you are dead set on the s20 or Tac A1, I would still go with the TAC A1.

I’ve owned a TRG and it is still one of my favorite rifles. The trigger setup was amazing. That said, I like to shoot PRS, and the only way to get a TRG to work for me would be to spend a pile of money on a new stock. For the cost of a TRG and a stock you can build a very nice custom rifle.

I now run Tikkas in KRG Bravo stocks. The stock options are endless now. Buy a T3 CTR in the caliber of your choice, buy a stock you like, nice glass and voila, go shoot.

I got lucky and bought a TRG action on CGN and then bought the KRG folding stock chassis.

But would agree with Tikka223 about getting the tikka and putting whatever chassis you want on it.
