Well it turns out that the 'modern' Sako trigger is tunable to a certain extent. Last night I brought the trigger on my Finnfire down to 14oz, and on a T3 down to 12 oz without any major or irreversible modifications. I've heard that some guys have gotten their Finnfire triggers down to 8oz, but I'm not sure that such is possible having the J P xuatom spring installed in my bolt. The higher k of the spring really makes a difference in the static friction on the sear face.
The biggest improvement I saw was after giving the sear face a puff of graphite dry lube to reduce the friction. I'd bet that trick alone would take most factory triggers under 2 lb easily.
