Sako Vixen and such

The early L46 Sako 222 Rems had a 16 twist, which was the same twist they used in the Hornet & Bee. Later L46 222 Rems had a 14 twist. These were the only 22 cals they made until the L469 in 222 Rem Mag came along with a 14 twist in 1959.
40 to 50 gr bullets would be your best bet for an accurate load. Also try some Barnes 36 gr.

I have a Custom AI in 222 with a 1-12 twist it likes 45 gr bullets best

i have had two sako vixens, as culling rifles, 1-14 twist, flat base bullets to 55 gr no problem and one would happily shoot 60 gr, Nosler and Hornady, and did somewhat ok, with the 70 gr speer, 1.5" at 100m, rater than the usual 3/4.
I agree sum of the L46 were sower twist, but every 461/Vixen, I've seen was 1-14 twist. good to 55 gr, sum may stabilize a short flat base 60gr.
