Sako vs CZ

With regards to the "better value" being the cz, im sure that is the case.

However, I am selling my vanguard because i picked up a winchester 70 in the same caliber. If i pull the trigger on a 243 I dont want to be in the same boat. I hate loosing 300$ when i "upgrade". I recently bought a citori and passed on the cz's because as far as fit and finish and details go, I just wouldnt have been happy with it as a "forever" gun. I realize that both guns will do the exact same thing for me, and im not capable of shooting better than an mid level or even economy gun. So thats why i was asking if the extra $ gets you significant improvements.

All in all, it sounds to me like 1600$ for a gun isnt really an astronomical price. Im not down with the savage 500$ guns as they just feel cheap. The stocks feel like plastic, working the safety always feels like its going to break... thats why i went with the weatherby. But having that side by side with a Win 70...

Anyways, from your responses folks, i think im going to skip out on the hunt for a cz to handle/hold, and just decide if im going to drop the coin.

So Coopers are .5 MOA production rifles? :)

And how many on this site are .5 MOA shooters?

It seems to me that most production rifles today are more accurate than the people who shoot them.
If so, then accuracy is no longer a deciding issue re. gun acquisition.
Really, we buy things because we convince ourselves that we want them.
Want 'em? .. No, we NEED 'em!

That's my;) usual rationale.

Yup... NEED it! lol. Guns can be so much more than just something that shoots a bullet. They can be family heirlooms that pass down through generations, they can be works of art... etc...

I think im going to forgo trying to find a cz. There is a reason i passed up a cz over under and went for a citori... etc.

I just wish i could figure out exactly what this sako is. They say its an 85 hunter... but i cant find a single photo of one with a schnabel forend!

The 85 Bavarian has a schnabel forend and hog back buttstock with iron sights. Is that the one?
