Shamelessly borrowed from militaryphoto - These are exactly my issues with the regular TAVOR, and the M-Tavor/X95 is addressing it

WITH THE SAME BARREL LENGTH :

The MTAR has a shorter overall length than TAR/CTAR

It's lighter.

It also has a shorter length of pull.

The butt stock is less bulky ( height ) .

The position of the mag release and the charging handle allow quicker reloads and stoppage clearance.

The shape and size of the bolt release reduce the chances of premature/accidental bolt release.

The handguard+charging handle location on the MTAR allows rail attachment on all sides unlike on the TAR/CTAR.

The handguard +charging handle location on the MTAR allows the barrel to free float.

The handguard on the MTAR allows the use of telescopic sound suppressors
or shorter barrels than 13 inches with regular sound suppressors.

The safety switch on the MTAR is easier to operate.(45 degrees)

You can remove the pistol grip therefore the size of the trigger guard is up to the operator's choice.

I "think" I prefer the trigger guard on the micro tavor... But, it may be because that is what I am used to seeing on a firearm...

Time will tell, I'll see what I think of the regular tavor when I get my hands on MINE!!!:dancingbanana:

Cheers
Jay

At first I was thinking, big deal its restricted. Then I read this:

So this thing would be non-restricted with an 18.5" barrel and not that much longer than the one pictured. I MUST HAVE!

The one pictured has what in Canada would be a restricted barrel length. The MTAR is about 1.25" or so shorter overall if you discount the barrel.

IIRC M-TAR barrel length is 13".

FWIW No such thing as a micro tavor, now it is the X95. Because SF units in export countries wanted their gun to be "special"

We'll have them next year, as announced previously.

The mag release is forward of the trigger and and ambi.

2 trigger guards are available. The pictured and one like the tavor.

BTW it is amazingly small.

Cost will be higher than the Tavor.

If you can get them with the non-restricted barrel length I'm in for sure...

Hmmm, I have been looking at the Tavor for a while, but never pulled the trigger.

The new MTAR (or X95) looks to be a very nice rifle, with an 18.5" barrel and the full hand/trigger shroud (as CanAm said, it can be changed to whichever one you like) I may actually decide to get one of these! :)

I love bulpups but the Tavor looked to clunky. The MTAR looks sweet as pie! :D

Have you handled one? It's one of those guns that as soon as you pick it up it just feels right.

Unfortunately no, never got to handle one. I will take your word for it though.

When I got the FAB Defense 4 railed handguard for my Benelli M4, I always thought it would be huge and clunky, but its actually really quite pleasant to hold, even with the bottom rail exposed. Not bad all.

I guess those Israeli's know how to make gun stuff :D
