Looking to get a new 1911 and the SAMs from Wolverine caught my eye. Only thing is, I can't find many reviews on them so looking for experiences people have had. I'm looking specifically at the thunderbolt or commander

Good quality for the price. Have a thunderbolt and a stainless full size. They aren't a colt. But they are well worth the price. Apparently their price tag will be going up in the near future.

I have a SAM commander parkerized, great pistol. Very accurate shooter. I modified it by adding a magwell from Ed Brown, it was slightly tight fit but no shaving/filing done. Just used some oil to allow it to slide in.

The front sight is white dot, and rear sights are blacked out. I initially had reservations about it but after shooting it, I like the sight setup.

Only complaints Ive heard or had was the springs are a little on the weak side and the extractors/ejectors are not really that tuned. Buddies commander would dent brass. My 9mm SAM spring on it was on the weak side.

I have an Omega in .40, with good magazines it is reliable. I do know some guys that had problems with SAMs but wolverine made it right in the end.

Wolverine will stand behind and go above and beyond to help for sure.
That said the Sam's are not without some issues from time to time.... their seems to be variances in dimensions between guns which isn't noticeable because they are hand finished to look good as they come but when you swap pieces they might not match from time to time.....

I have a 9mm gi. Evrrything is tight and seems well put together. I was having extraction problems. I emailed wolverine and they took care of it. Good gun and great dealer they stand behind their products and I wouldn't be afraid to buy another
