Hey there gunny guru's, gotta pick your brains! I picked up a mauser sporter a while back and as far as I am able to I.D. it, its a Santa Barbra. I took it out for an impromptu range session and it was shooting great. Got time to head for the hacienda and I wanted to try a quick 1-2 blast at 50yds and I fired the first one and went to jack in the 2nd and the bolt would only go part way into the receiver. The cocking piece had turned somehow so the it bangs up against the wrist of the stock. What the hellfire have I done and how do I rectify the situation???

I figured it out about 5 minutes ago, Kamlooky. But you get points for enthusiasm!! I wrapped a heavy cloth around the bolt sleeve-cocking piece and gently turned it with an adjustable wrench. Worked like a charm! Methinks a good stripping and degreasing is in order. I will send you pics via pm as I' m gonna ask for a flamejob for this thread.
