SAPI plates

Hey there saw the post and im interested in getting SAPI plates ive got a PAL and im in the security industry and i work in some dangerous areas(yeah who ever thought that the mall would be so crazy..) How much?? i live in BC to.

normally, i would laugh at you and call you gecko45...but given christmas being prime gang shooting time....

dude read the post above..look at srs tactical.

nza i did look at srs tactical but tghe price seems to good to be true, ive looked at the manufactures website havent found to many reviews...anyone with any experience on the srs SAPI plates?

They are NOT SAPI Plates.
I wish everyone would stop calling them that.
We do not have access to US Military Equipment.
People use that term to mkae it seem they are buying something better.... SAPI is OLD news people.

Buying from SRS Tactical would be the smartest thing you could do.
Unless you have 'Friends' that can help you buy from alternate sources, SRS is it.

Their Product is First Rate. Made by a First rate Company. Great price for a great product.
Is there thinner and lighter plates? of course there is...but no where near this price!

Stop asking and just buy them, there really is no point debating it

Are you for real?

Mall ninjas everywhere.

Though gecko45 came to mind...
I spent Rememberance Day in Vancouver, and had coffee at Lougheed Mall inbetween activities...
The security guards there were definately wearing some type of PPE. I could not tell if it were just stab proof or were up to level II...

given the fact that several gang-related shootings have been in and around shopping centre parking lots, I fully concur with some type of protection...but rifle plates?

I really don't see your mall security head honcho authorizing the use of plates, cause then you'd have to buy a plate carrier, then stick it with lots of velcro patches, and then lots of pouches for all your less than lethal options, then a groin protector...you see...its that road you don't want to go down:cool:

Hello team (and your friendly mall ninjas, I guess =) )
A few things about the plates, I found a few sources (including a new one based in Canada) that may increase the choices we have here (I've PM'd Greentips to get his view on this).

Ref plates, there are LVL IV standalone at 7lb (Op Cut, MSA Paraclete) range, and even lower than that not at the $1000 mark (i.e. boron carbide specialty plates). The question is getting your hands on them legally. Plates need to be tested for the rounds you face; as GT said SS109 (M855/C77) will go right through poly plates while M193 will zip through many steel/ceramic plates that stop SS109...as for the newfangled SOST round...to be determined...hope you don't run into a guy that raided the USMC/SOF armoury.

GT, but blousing boots make the mall authorities look professional and keeps the ants and ankle-biters from sticking digits etc into their ankles!

just thoght i should let you guys know i got authorization

The head of mall security has auth the wearing of hard plates? tell me which mall, so I can avoid the impending shootout.

I'd get 2 sets so you can double them up. You'll want to be able to take multiple hits of .338 Lapua while you're heading to your car to get the firepower.

I'd also reccommend twin Glock 19s, or the "Deadly Duo" as they're known in the mall security community.

Remember, the safety of our Christmas shoppers is your responsibility! From the HMV, to the food court, to the Virgin Mobile kiosk!

Pehaps this should be taken to the gear section and leave Dave's alone since they have answered the questions already.
