Sar tavor?

Thanks bud, I wanna order some stuff on az tech so I'm guessing all upgrades should work? I'm planing on replacing my canadian sling mount to the qd one.

I don't think that is going to work without permanent mods to your rifle for the front. Adding a rear QD socket is simple though. The Mesa Tactical kit for the Remington 870 shotgun works like a charm.

I keep hearing about this mod using the Mesa Tactical kit for the Rem 870. Do you have a link to details??

If you're talking about the front one it does not drop in. You have to remove a significant amount of plastic and either shim it out or modify the QD bit from the back. Not drop in at all.

Thank you for the insight... I thought it was a drop in from the front! I've already have the Mesa 870 rear

There's been several threads on the subject in this forum. The Canadian Firearms Journal also did an article on it, with pictures, a couple of years ago. You can find it online on the NFA website www.nfa.ca I'm sorry, but I don't remember the exact issue.

I just installed the Gearhead Works FLEXmount. I found there is a slight difference between the US Tavor and mine. The port wasn't cut out the same way, so I had to file a thou or two off the metal block to make it fit. Solid as the Rock of Gibraltar now that it's in, and it really is the PERFECT balance point for a QD mount.

Your Tav must have been out of spec or you did not push hard enough. I have installed FLEx's on several Tavors all with out issue other than the incredibly tight fit that keeps gases from coming out near your face.

Don't think so... I'm 6 foot and 260 pounds. I frequently break things accidentally pushing too hard, and I GAVE 'ER!!!!!! Two other friends were there as well, and they weren't able to make it go.

The FLEx instructions say there is a notch to slide the upper edge of the blocks in, and the ejection port on the video has a 3cm or so gap in the steel that comprises the upper lip. When I take my ejection port cover off there is an even lip of shiny steel all around it, maybe 1mm in width. It certainly doesn't look irregular. Maybe a few older parts were used in the assembly of mine? Not sure what Generation it is... I bought it off the EE and it came to me with what looks like a factory flat top and integral BUIS.

Nonetheless, it is installed now and SUPER SOLID.

I also installed a Galloway Precision Shell Deflector. Amazing what difference a couple of degrees make on that deflector... I no longer eat brass when I'm forced to shoot off my left shoulder!
