If you noticed it also mentioned that all three regular seasons ( rifle, archery, and muzzleloader) will be shorter this year. I find it odd that they would do this then still issue about the same number of draw tags. Also, I'm not sure a slightly shorter season will do anything but put just as many hunters afield, in a shorter period of time (increased pressure).

I'm super A for Elk and Mule deer. Wish me luck.
 
I'm not going to Saskatchewan this year or maybe next year. I will wait until the deer rebound back to a healthy population.
 
I think Ill just be doing the white tail this year.

For guys that have never put in for a draw, do you ever get picked for your first year you put your name in?
 
i am super A for elk and spotted a nice herd last night,by chance.
fingers crossed.
but also i read they are not starting the elk draw season til 15th sept to allow farmers to
bring in the crops.this i agree with, as normally its too hot and the elk dont come out
of the bush to feed.i am not one for 'pushing bush' and stressing the animals.

as for the deer population,from a 1/2 drive from my house and back via gravel roads
i must of seen over 200 deer.some in places i have never ever seen them.
deer numbers are fine by me,they might be a tad skinny but numbers are here.
plenty of mulies too
 
I 99'd my elk for the 2nd year in a row, just too busy to take time off again this year, C pool for antlerless mule, I should be drawn for them here in 45w but I doubt I'll shoot one. A pool for moose this year so I doubt I'll get anything but I applied for 68S just in case.
 
I was in the A pool for moose and elk last fall 2013, and got drawn for moose in 64. I will be in Super A for elk this year. I saw 2 bulls 2 days ago in Zone 50, but there is no bull season there, however there are still lots of cows.
