Here are a couple of coyotes I shot yesterday here in southern Sask. Temp was about -8 with a 20 KM wind. Both coyotes were brought in with my Fox Pro Shockwave using the Male Howl and Female Yodel. Both came in around the 16 min mark,,,cautious but not hanging up.

Here is the first coyote I shot, was about 100 yards from the call.

Here is what I really try and zero in in my area,,,they love the willows and slough bottom mixes

Coyote number 2, taken in wide open country..just below this fellow was a teepee ring..was pretty cool to see.

Another shot of good coyote country

Here is one of the two I skinned out. Both were great furs with long guard hairs, white bellies and beautiful coats. Will be fleshing and stretching them tonight.

Rifle- Tikka T3 Lite .204 Ruger w/ Bushnell LRHS 3-12x44
Bullet- 35 gr. Berger at 3800 FPS
Call- Foxpro Shockwave

Was a great day out, should have had 3 coyotes but missed a 330 yard shot..oh well. Been a tough year calling in my area but figure that's due to the value of these prime pelts.

Cheers!!

Yeah we have no snow at all, this is year 3...sucks for coyote hunting. Sorry to hear about your truck but r this year hasn't been anything special. Hunting pressure is extreme and with no snow they can mouse all day and keep their bellies full.

Arrrrg, there's the reports Ive been missing !!!
Thanks for taking the time to get out and allow us to share your adventure.
Might have to make my way out into the QU'APPELLE VALLEY on my M/C this summer ...
One of these days a Coyote Hunt has to be engaged.
Thanks for sharing and hope the price is high for your efforts.
Tight Skins !

Nice shootin scott_r . The hides look like they are in excellent condition. What's the goin rate for a prime hide these days ?

Hey looks like my stomping grounds. I only have eleven coyotes this year and one was mangy. Back before we had kids I was out much more. My best year was 81 coyotes. A friend of mine is well over a hundred coyotes this year.

Im not sure but last winter I was getting $150 on average. Some guys were getting 2x that for a prime coat if I look at my NAFA reciept.

How are they for shoulder mites, about half of what I've shot were worthless.
So far Ive only shot one with mites but a number had mange. Ive also had about 10 that were so full of burs and seeds I just left them. Its been a pretty crappy season but it beats work.

Cheers!!

So far this winter I have shot 11. # 11 was 2 days ago with Winchester M-43 ( made 1957 ) in .22 Hornet @ 100 yds.
My Dad got it for me in 1962 , from a fellow worker who only used it for deer hunting. He had killed 10 deer with it from
only taking standing lung shots @ 50 yds. ,,,,,,,,, No I do not use it 4 deer , but he did.
I have used it for these coyotes , ground hogs , jack rabbits & a few other game types. Great little gun. ,,,,,,,,,, Frank

Wow sounds like you guys have lots of coyotes out your way. I had to give up just before Christmas. Too much snow in southern MB. I am only up to 7 abut am happy for my first year. 4 had mange or shoulder lice though.

I haven't seen any here in Mexico yet!

That's awesome, a couple years ago I spent a lot of time working around Shaunavon. Your pictures remind a lot of the bench hills area. Loved it down there and spent a great deal of time calling the creeks in the bench. Good on you cheers!
