I don't usually hunt predators, pretty much big game only, but | have been asked by a Sask land owner to come shoot coyotes on his property. (Yes I am considered a Sask resident). I am however unclear on the regs.

General Rights of Saskatchewan Landowners and Residents
Any Saskatchewan resident may use any legal means to hunt Raccoon, Skunk, Rabbit, Coyote, and Beaver (in some Rural Municipalities) year-
round, without a licence (W 13.1 REG 1-4(1) and 32(3)) on lands where hunting is permitted in southern Saskatchewan (W 13.1 REG 1-10(4))

Landowners or land occupants are further permitted to use any legal means to kill Beaver, Muskrat or any
carnivore except Swift Fox to protect their property on lands they own or lease (W-13.1 REG 1-6(3) and 6(4))

. Any person who kills wildlife pursuant to any of these conditions is required to immediately
report the killing to a wildlife officer who will specify the manner for disposing of the carcass
(W-13.1 REG 1-6(5))

But in the game regs it talks about fur licenses and the Habitat certificate. Am I correct in the understanding that I may shoot coyotes on his property without license providing we don't keep or sell the pelts (and contact the MNR), but licenses are required if ones intends to sell them. And without a zone map what is considered South Sask? (wasn't an issue when I was living in Maple Creek :) )

Just wanting to get this straight before I make plans, kicker is getting to a MNR office during working hours is pretty much an impossibility. And Yes I will try to call the MNR office monday.

You don't need any licences in my opinion. Make sure not to shoot any red foxes as they are protected. What area of Saskatchewan will be you be hunting?

Pierceland is in zone 55. You do not need a license to shoot coyotes in zones 1-55 in Sask. Go to the SERM website and look at the zone map. Be sure that the land you are on is in zone 55 and you are good to go.
