A little help here guys, as I have been unable to download the 2009 regs book from the SERM sight, and I have been out of province since July, I have no other access to the info I seek until I get home.

I will be home (sask) on leave from Dec.12 to Jan.10, are there any hunting opportunities still available then this year (over the counter tags obviously)? I figure Most big game is likely closed unless there are still tags for cypress hills elk that aren't sold and how are they dealing with CWD this year? Upland Game Birds should be opening again about then too no?

Would love an opportunity to get out this season for a day or two anyway.

You are pretty much SOL for most big game. Season ends Dec 7th. There may be the odd late season but for the most part those are draws.

However, if you've got the itch to shoot coyotes there's a $20 bounty so you can just go at it.

If there is any hope for you, I think you will have to find out by a phone call to SERM.

I have a copy of the guide here and it does look like you are out of luck. I can't see any big game season other than draws that goes on after 07DEC, and very little of the draws. There is draw anterless elk huntable up until 19DEC, but I don't know whether any of these draws were undersubscribed and then if they were, whether the undrawn tags will be available for over the counter purchase. The guide doesn't mention any extended seasons for CWD control, of course, because it wouldn't be decided on until late in the season. Good luck.
