Looking online, my web-fu must be weak...

As a non resident of Sask. do I need a permit to shoot gophers in Sask.?

Not asking for a friend.

Have you read the sask hunting regs? You’ll likely find your answer there, the B.C. regs have a section covering non game animals. Schedule C & B animals is what they call them. Some don’t need a license to be shot and some do.

if you google 'sask hunting regs'
the wildlife act, wildlife regs and game act will pop up
i have scanned thru and cant find anything applicable, but i kno non residents cant hunt coyotes or wild boar
non resident can apply for whitetail draw tags or use an outffiter

best of luck delving thru the laws

That's exactly what I googled... lol.
I just wanna smoke some gophers.

No, you don’t need a permit for gophers as they aren’t what anyone would call “furbearing animals” in the sense that people trap them for saleable fur. You will need landowner permission to access and “hunt”

Thanks... I "thought" this was the case, but wanted to confirm.

Only stipulation for gophers is that you can’t use the term “ hunting gophers”. Has to be “ shooting gophers”. :p

Permit ?... Not at all. If you live in (or visit) the prairies and own long arms, then it should be your right and responsibility (in my opinion) to shoot those varmints!
