Sask Zone 3 - Either ### Mules

The old man and I ended up getting either-### mule in zone 3 (Saskatchewan). Not overly familiar with the area, but a lot of pasture that I prob can’t hunt until after November 1. Anyone from around there have any help for a muzzleloader hunt for my old man and I?

You need to knock on lots of doors down there... that's hillbilly country. They don't like outsiders in that Consul area.

I wanted 2 west, 5, or 6... and got skunked.
 
Yeah, no one wants anything like last fall to happen again. I carry a fire extinguisher in my truck at all times when I’m oot and aboot. Might have to grab one of those backpack size ones for hiking if it stays that dry down there.

I got some of my best deer hunting spots, lined up by knocking on doors during spring and summer looking for gophers. damned good excuse to beat around the boonies and see some country, too.

Aside from making connections early, it gives you lots of opportunity to work those connections for 'their' connections, which can really open up a lot more area for you if you have been vetted by someone so you come, essentially, with a referral.

Be polite, be graceful when turned down, and keep trying. It's what worked for me.
