Has anyone out there travelled to sask. for deer or moose. Where is the best place to go? Who are the best outfitters? What is involved paperwise? I would be travelling from Manitoba so probably driving there. What are the prices like? Any info would be great. Thank you

you can hunt whitetail and black bear with out a guide..Moose you will need a outfitter.I have hunted up around Prince Albert a few times, theres lots of bush and its later in Nov post rut.Lotsof big bucks you really need to work for them.A few guys and a orginized drive can put one in your site

As stated above, whitetail deer can be hunted by a Canadian resident without a guide, but moose cannot.

Our moose population is is trouble in most of the northern forest. Habitat changes, far too much pressure by aboriginal hunters exercising treaty rights, some poaching and wolf predation, and winter tick mortality has hit them hard. There are still a few good outfitters with decent success rates in a few pockets, mostly fly - in. You will need to do your homework.

The very best moose hunting success in recent years in Saskatchewan has been in the farmland, on private land. Populations are booming, because of limited entry draws, little unregulated hunting and poaching, and no predators. But that opportunity is unavailable to hunters from out of province. Sorry!
