If I remember correctly I believe it was run by one guy. He also worked so maybe "juggling" both proved an issue. Maybe someone in Sask could take it over.

Menoutdoors is gone too. Saskatchewan is without a hunting and firearm forum. Thankfully, Alberta Outdoorsman is lively.

gone the way of the dinosaur, too bad but the numbers were low and actual participation sucked. Most guys like to show off their trophy heads and pretty much ended there from what I saw. All kinds of Sask hunt stuff on FB but its blows as does anything on FB. CGN is where its at nows.
We need a SK sub forum section for hunting ;)

Cheers!!

Got this off of 306 Hunters! (Facebook Group)

“I can put this question to bed for you. You can take the information i'm telling you as fact because i was the creator of the website saskatchewanhunts.ca. I saw somewhere not so long ago that people thought it was an under cover sting operation. Well i can assure you that is certainly not true. Basically i ran out of steam. Most people don't realize how much work is involved with administrating a forum. Especially on your own. Lots of approvals, emails, spammers constantly trying to hack their way in etc. I also have a very busy career that keeps me tied to a computer all day everyday. It got to the point the computer was the last thing i wanted to do when i got home.

I contemplated taking the website down for a while. The fellow who hosted the website on his server is currently in Africa doing some work and quite hard to get ahold of. I sent him a message that i would like to take the website down. When he finally came into wifi service and received my message weeks later he flipped the switch off. That is the reason for the hasty retreat.

Facebook is a much better platform for a forum type site. Its cheap, efficient and anyone can set one up in seconds. Online forums are getting to be a thing of the past.

Now i can enjoy the same information on here without all the added labour, expense, moderating and trying to maintain political correctness. Enjoyed running the site and thank all the members for posting such interesting content over the years. Was just time to move on.” — Brad Elsner

There was only a handful of us posting on Saskhunt. I understand why the boss pulled the plug as I probably would've done the same myself.

Still, there was loads of good local info and great to share with other Sk hunters. Facebook is alright but it is FULL of retards or guys who always comment one or all of the following:

- Too small, should've given him two more years (as if you can "give" a deer "time");
- OMG WHY AREN'T YOU WEARING ORANGE ON YOUR PIC ITS THE RIFLE SEASON!!! (as if taking off your whack hunter orange wasn't an option before gutting the thing);
- OMG WHERE'S THE TAG (because taking a quick, unspoiled by an orange tag, picture is illegal); and
- OMG why did you shoot a doe/cow!!! Don't you know that shooting a doe/cow is pretty much like killing 100 deer/moose/elk.

I couldn't agree more I liked Saskhunts and 306 Hunter they try to internet police every post on there.
