So I took the girlfriend out deer hunting yesterday, for an afternoon sit n wait. I had success with a doe bleat call earlier in the season for myself, so I tried to work my magic. Skunked.
Anyways, we get near the end of legal light, and call it quits. I stand up, and there's a coyote down in a dip. I figured I had been watching careful enough, but not so. So she passes the 30/30 over, and I give it a lead pill.
Moral of the story?? 30/30 is not a coyote gun.
Whats the best way to salvage this for bait?? Its still whole, just missing a lot of shoulder to guts diagonal through the body. Could a guy use pieces in a bucket with holes in it?? Thoughts??
