I am looking for a recoil pad for my 12 gauge coachgun. I was leaning towards the large grind-to-fit Limbsaver, but I read the rules on SASS and I think it may be not allowed.

From their site:

1. Must be made out of materials that were generally available and used for stock making during the cowboy era.

2. May replace the factory butt-plate with a permanently fitted, slip-on, or lace-on rubber or leather recoil pad, or change the butt-plate to a style that was generally available from the original manufacturer.

3. May attach a piece of leather or similar natural material to the buttplate.

Is there a decent product that qualifies under these rules?

Pretty much as it says, if it was not made (designed), “materials of” and used pre 1900, unlikely acceptable. Remember you don’t need bone breaker shot for SAS. But there are those more knowledgeable than me on the board.
