I'm bringing my CGN t-shirt. :D

Is the schedule the same as last time? Plinking early in the day and the match later on?

Heads up!!

Just a reminder that the event goes from 1200 hrs to 1600 hrs.

Don't forget that 1200 hrs includes first round down range. Interpret that at 1100 hrs I want to have the targets set up, and that means safety briefing and squading into relays.

Yes, the Range Safety Officer is God (not quite the Base Commander, though) and the Law comes down in form of the range safety briefing. Saturday's event with high anticipated numbers mean that with 2 plus relays, we are gonna push people through the course of fire (and walk through , talk through). We are not going to accomodate late comers once we do the range safety briefing before 1200 (similar to the way we run the Service Rifle matches at Mons, Amiens, & Connaught ranges.) I do have to remind people that there is a reason that TimK and I MEET all our timings! Especially the mess hall at Connaught Dozens of uniforms will attest to this reputation.

We cannot have people showing up at 1300 hrs JUST to shoot the match without the Range Safety Briefing. This ain't one of those handgun matches where you are given a time slot/margin to show up and shoot. It's the DND's range and we play by their rules. There is no flexibility when you miss the Range Safety Briefing at around 1100 hrs; Range Standing Orders!

There is a reason why our (Timk and I) events have a minimum of cluster fornication and lolly gagging. That's why I am warning some of the newcomers (to our events) that this ain't run like many civvie events since many of our shooters are military/ LEO and have high expectations re: meeting our timings!

There! You have been warned... If in doubt come an hour early and bring a Tim's coffee with you. Take the time to drink in the ambience of Langemark Range!

Trust me... you will all have a lot more fun if our timings are on the ball. It's a mutual respect of each others' time!

Remember that when we said the event will take us to 1600 hrs... that's the time we call for the march off (inspection) by Range Control. Interpret that as we need an hour to put away the targets, target materials, police up the brass, patches, clean up the garbage, high 5 each other , trade emails and CGN contacts/business cards, back slap each other, shake hands, & free willie (the one eyed trouser snake) then hit the road home after a fun day.

Here ya go! You have been given the heads up!!
