Anyone have experience with the noted said firearm........good, bad or otherwise?.......of course, accuracy, workmanship, fit, feel and quality.

I think thy are a great rifle and one day I will have one in a 7mm .there is a video of franz Albrecht shooting a 202 on hogs in Germany ,utube ,Dutch

I have the Sauer 200 with two barrels. One in 30-06 and one in 25-06. Just a fantastic rifle. Very very accurate, great balance, fit and finish is superb, smoothest running bolt I have felt in any factory bolt gun so far. Pricey but worth it.

The only thing I didn't like was how long it took to get the rifle with all the options I wanted/ordered but that is no fault of the company, that problem lies with the canadian importer/distributor

Even though I am a die hard Cooper fan, I have owned a few Sauers, my last was a Stutzen Elegance in 30-06, 20", full stock of Grade 4 Walnut, and touted as being an ideal "Mountain Rifle" by Sauer. Fit and finish were superb, accuracy was tops, handling was quite good considering the weight, a little over 9.5 lbs with scope, sling and ammo. It got moved along, and since Cooper does not make an ultra-light rifle, I ended up with a Kimber Adirondack in .308, which with the same scope, sling and ammo load weighs a little under 6 lbs. Sauer like Cooper and many other high end firearms carry a certain level of prestige, similar to owning a Porsche, Benz, BMW, etc, questions regarding fit, finish and quality do not apply to products of this level.

My Dad had a model 200 that he had customized for his tastes during a visit to the factory in Germany. My brother inherited it and bought another 202. both are very fine rifles. If they fit you and you like the style, there are absolutely no negatives to the design or quality.

unbelievable rifle I have the 202 elegance in 9.3x 62 the single set trigger is amazing. the only down fall is that the safety is inside the trigger guard which can be hard to navigate with gloves. Very accurate rifle.

I have Sauer 202 Jagd in 308 Win with heavy barrel and 1:11 twist. It is awesome. It can be a competition rifle. I shot 4" groups on 500 yeads with Nosler Custom Trophy 165 gr ammo.

Who regularly stocks Sauer 202's in Canada?
There are some dealers that stock them but only the very basic versions from what I have seen.

With the options Sauer has from factory I would suggest anyone buying to order exactly what you want. I have not seen any retailer with the fluted barrels, set trigger, etc sitting on the shelf

Just back from a caribou hunt at -31C, I was afraid the extreme cold would be a problem with the perfect fit of the bolt but my Sauer 202 in 7mm rem mag worked flawlessly! Used M pro 7 oil. (My buddy used a Tika and it worked fine too)

No problem with the safety using gloves. I like the safety where it is, you take it off at the moment you shoot just like the Garand and the M14.

Accuracy, feel, handling, fit and finish are what you would expect from a Porsche, Rolex or Czech super model.

I just picked up a used Sauer 202 from this site in 375. I am very happy to now own this rifle as I have longed to own one for some time. The rifle did not come with the tools- can anyone tell me the actual length of 5mm Allen I need to tighten the rear end of the stock?

thanks

I just measured the rear stock tool, it has a length of 16.5 inches, with room to spare. Good luck and congrats on your new Sauer...........I know how you feel. BTW, here is mine, a 30-06.
