* Sauer Behörden Model – Prussian State Police Under Third Reich

Out of my safe, and for the pleasure of introducing them…
Here are 2 of 2,000 specimens only, that were marked for the Prussian State police under the Third Reich.

Serial numbers : 213981 & 215748

Following info is quoted from « Axis Pistols « by Jan Still

« The Sauer Behörden (i.e. Authority Model) was manufactured by J.P. Sauer and Sohn from about 1933 to 1938 at Suhl, Germany.
It was a modification of the 1930 Sauer with the addition of three safeties.
The Nazi controlled Prussian State Police procured and marked about 2,000 in the 207000 to 216000 serial range. »

There were three variants as regards the inspector involved as Waffenrevisor.

One is known as Krause with a letter « K » within a sunburst. See s/n 213981.
Second is stamped by another inspector, without initial, but with a four-sided diamond within a sunburst. See s/n 215748.
A third variant is stamped by another inspector without initial, but with a six-sided diamond. I don’t have this variant.

Their condition is excellent in all regards.
The « K » (s/n 213981) still has one of its two original magazines, being numbered « 981 » on the floor plate.
For info, digit « 1 » means first of two mags that originally were provided with the pistol in a police-marked holster.

Thank you for taking time, fellow collectors

Bruno
