Sauvestre ammunition?

Used to be imported into Canada by Century International back in the day. IIRC there was someone on here a few years back trying to get it carried in Canada again, but seemingly with little luck.

Okay, but are they now prohibited or not importable? Could they come in in a small quantity even if only as a novelty item?

NRCAN regulations require the vendor to supply something like 1000s or even 10,000s of rounds for evaluation. Apparently it takes forever and is expensive to do this.
Without this bullsh@t stamp of approval, they are not importable.

That "bullsh@t stamp of approval" keeps a lot of otherwise dangerous and unsafe explosives off the Canadian market. And the approvals process is far less of a hassle than most armchair commandos here make it out to be. How would I know? I have explosives in the approvals process right now.

For years we got by just fine without them. Suddenly under john cruton's administration we have to do this. It takes a no-brainer idea to seperate ammunition regulations from explosives regulations. I stand by my comments. And whether you like it or not is your problem, not mine. I'll point out the topic is ammunition here, not explosives.

Guess what ammunition is classified as, genius.

And amusingly, not liking it seems to be the issue of everyone else here. I'm quite ok with the status quo.

We know you're quite okay with it.

Does it ever get tiring being an apologist for bureaucrats?

Nope. They give me what I want when I ask for it so I have nothing to complain about. It's remarkable how far a little politeness will take you, and asking rather than demanding because you feel it's owed to you.

Well as long as you get what you want it's all okay then.

Too bad those same folks don't let you have your screen name or avatar. Maybe if you ask them nicely?

Lots of people get what they want. It's all about having realistic expectations and delivering your argument tactfully, something a lot of folks in this community lack. Change to the law doesn't happen quickly or easily, and there's usually ways to work around it to get what you want. Not everything mind you and granted some bureaucrats have their own agenda that won't mesh with yours, but if nothing is ventured nothing is gained.

If I wanted full auto AKs I'd get a business or museum license and make it happen. My need and desire aren't that strong. Just about everything we want is obtainable through some sort of legal channel; the question is how badly do you want it?

I suppose ignoring the law is just easier when it suits your purpose, especially if you don't think it's all that "serious". The problem comes when you encounter an authority that DOES think it's serious. I'm not sitting here arguing about tracers and explosives laws because I think it's fun. I think people ought to be educated so they can make an informed choice about an issue they may not know about, or have been misinformed about, because some day it just might affect them.
