Bought one a few years back. New in box. Was a resting safe queen Setting it up now retirement project.

Going with Nightforce rings with Nightforce scope 14x42 56 mm they have arrived.

The stock is not totally to my liking. The new Magpul on the 300wm or 338LM seems to be a better unit.

Rifle came with Brownells stock wrench. Does anyone know how to get the adjustable stock off. And who sells the Newer MAGPUL stock.

Thanks.

The stock comes off the same way as any AR-15 stock. Use the wrench to loosen the ring at the front of the stock and then turn the stock counter-clockwise to remove.

You could try to get the newer Magpul PRS-2 stock which is on the current models, or just get the standard PRS stock and buffer tube and that will mount right on your existing unit. I put the older PRS on my 10BAS-K and find it to be much superior if you are using a rear bag. The only difference between the old and new PRS is the way it mounts to the rifle.

One thing to be aware of; some of the first 10BAS models had a problem with the slope of the scope rail; it actually sloped a little backward, so you run out of elevation adjustment very quickly. The only fix is to either shim the back of the rail a bit, or use something like Burris Signature Zee rings if you need some more MOA's for long range shooting. The newer rails are sloped 20 MOA, I believe.
