Hey all, Wanstalls has a few Savage 10 TRs in 308 Win with a 20" barrel and 1:10 twist for 800$. And NO I don't work for Wanstalls and I am not sponsered by them. The reason I am posting this is because I once owned this rifle (in an MDT chassis at the time) and it was outstandingly accurate for the price. I then sold it to make funds for another project.

My new project completed a year ago, I had saved up money to buy another one but they were hard to find. Thankfully, Wanstalls has some for sale for 800$ which is a great price and the rifle's performance rivals Remington's 700 AAC SD for 100-200$ less.

It's a great short barrelled 308 if you're into that.

Eh. I own one and it's alright. Finding used stuff - like a chassis for example or detachable mag bottom metal - there's a lot less choice.

They were worth it at $600 or thereabouts, but for $800 if I had to do it again, I'd probably buy the 700.

Love this rifle. I got mine at Wolverine Supplies about 1.5 years ago for $749. I'm still load developing on it as I've been mainly just plinking using reloads.

Started to do some more reloading using better tools such as a Hornady bullet comparator to hopefully get a minimal bullet jump to the lands.

Will probably buy a muzzle brake from Coretac since I find the rifle jumping a lot (using original stock) with a caldwell bipod.

Tough to swallow when sfrc just sold a couple hundred at $600.

Lol, so true. Even their regular price is less than Wanstall's, and you only pay one tax with SFRC. With SFRC's last sale, mine was $629 to my door.

OP, hope you didn't pay $799, SFRC will likely restock. Bullseye London has them for $749 with free shipping.

Yeah, great rifles, had one for a while now, no problems reaching out to 1km. Five of my friends have 10TRs, all from SFRC and Frontier. I just picked up the 20" from SFRC and I plan to hunt with it.

Good thread with tons of pics and info here:

Why it isn't stickied yet is beyond me.
