can anyone tell me whats the recommended type of round for this rifle

Definatly use the same ammo that stamped on the side of the barrel(it could be .308, or .223) 
I have only put about 50rds through mine.. It shoots about 3/4" With federal gold match... But Im going to start reloading for it. I tryed 168amax 42, 43, and 44 grains of varget, It put the first two loads(all six bullets) under an inch(remember 2 differnt charge weights)... but for the 44 grain load, 3 shots were over an inch.. definatly getting similar results as big ugly, and his savage? Maby with 175grain bullets, I will be able to use near max charges?
dad had some remintion 180grain round nose..... and that shot 2-1/2"!!!!
