What are your views on this gun?

Im interested in hearing from people have currently own them or have owned them. Good/Bad?

What ammo did you find worked really well for you?

Have owned several of them in several different configurations. Great rifle for a great price. As far as ammo goes, I am sure most will agree, you have to find the round that works best for your rifle. each one of mine liked a different load.

Which caliber.. they are available in at least 2..

I have a 10FP LE in 308 and it's a tac driver at 200 yards I can consistently put 5 rounds into a cloverleaf.. I'm using federal match..

I don't like the choate stock.. I will probably be replacing it or getting another..

A friend of mine has one. He found a handload that grouped 1" at 200 yards. Damn straight smokin' accurate. All he did was cut the tape on the box it was shipped in. I like my 700's. But when it's time to get another boom stick, I'll be looking at savage seriously.

I've got a 10 FP LE2B (the first-generation with the McMillan stock). It shoots well under an inch, sometimes under a half inch when I do my part. I use handloads with the 168 AMax. Never had much success with Federal GMM.

I just picked up a 10FP in .308 bedded in a Choate stock. What personally dont you like about the stock? Other than the bloody thing weighs a damn ton.... :D

I can't shoot a Sako TRG 22 any better than the Savage 10fp, Dang accurate for the price. have it for sale in the EE, dislike everything about it except the accuracy, its just plain accurate.

The LE2B is the in the ultimate varmint stock and the pistol grip is huge.. I don't have big hands so keeping a grip on the thing when I use the bolt is a pain in the butt...

I'll probably work on it and maybe reform it..

or maybe find another one in a mcmillan stock.. I dunno.. It's just impressed the hell out of me for how well it shoots...

I've got the same stock I think. I was a little surprised that the pistol grip was pretty think although the weight of the thing surprised me more.

I havent gotten a chance to take the rifle out yet due to work contraints. :(

The LE2B was the McMillan stock. The LE2A was the Choate Ultimate Sniper. Never was a fan of the Choate stock. Could be the funny geometry (to me anyway) or could be that jackass John Plaster (that guy gets up my nose something fierce).

i have the macmillan cal 308win and very satisfied with my rifle.
no problems except the trigger i dont like tthat much.
i used badger ordonance steel 20moa base and max50 rings to mount a bushnell 6500 mildott, the setup look agressive enough and shoot well.

no the base doesnt touch the scope, its just close.
the front ring have mooved foward for esthetic reasons.

max50 rings 30mm standard heigh , elite 6500 4.5-30x50 30mm tube.

the rings are matched pair, its not a fake.
