Looking at getting myself a nice bolt 308 in the coming month or 2 and landed at these 2 as options. But I have a dilemma: what's the difference?

From what I can tell, the FCP-SR has a fluted barrel and 10 round AR style mag. Whereas the TR is just a standard barrel and a 4 round mag. Am I missing anything?

The big wants for this gun would be a threaded heavy barrel, which both have.

I just can't figure out if the additional 100-150 bucks is worth it for the FCP-SR.

The FCP-SR comes with a top bolt release and the TR with a bottom bolt release, a big difference if you change the stock.

I think the FCP-SR will be the route I go. I have the opportunity to buy a brand new version of the older model before the change in mags with the camo stock, so I think I'll go with that. Thanks!

I was in the same dilemna you were in. I couldn't decide between the two. I didn't like the plastic magazines that were in the new FCP-SR but didn't care for the capacity of the 10TR. So, the decision came down to if I had to put one in a chassis, which would make more sense? The 10TR as it was cheaper from the get go, and the stock/magazine is worth more to someone else.

If I had access to the older, camo stocked FCP-SR with the metal magazines (AICS I believe?) It'd be the one in my gun case now. I couldn't find one, so I went with the 10TR. once I'm done with my model 11 predator .223 that's in my MDT Chassis I can just put the 10TR in it if I choose.

I think you made an excellent choice! Now show us how well it shoots!

Well here's the dilemma. I found the old model fcp-sr locally (camo stock/metal mag). Went and shouldered it and the TR. The TR bolt seemed smoother and easier to operate. And the tr is $200 cheaper which means more for optics or a chassis. The balance was better in the FCP. But I could fill the butt end of the TR with foam to balance it better and take away vibration.
Decisions decisions.
It's either $779 or $959. Or I can get the TR online for $719.
