Wondering if anyone out there could provide me with some information about the action screws of the Savage 110. My current rifle has different length as well as different diameter screws front to back. The rear screw is longer and has a bigger thread diameter than the front screw. Is this typical? I have recently purchased a new stock and this front screw is now too short. Are these screws available in various lengths or are they fairly standard?

Any help would be appreciated! :D

What model of 110?
You may be able to counterbore the hole in the stock so the scrw sits deeper.

the screws are 1/4 X 28 Threads Per Inch. Some hardware stores have them, but they can be hard to find. I found some at Fastenal.

Frazer...from Fastenal.....did the screws have a blank shoulder like the originals, ...orrrr were there threads running all the way to the top ??...that's the only ones I could get at Fastenal. Even went to their shop here in HFX.

I was even looking for for those same original ones just a little longer with the smooth shoulders....I'd 'av cut em and rethreaded them myself, but NO DICE!...If they're the same ones as the originals, would you please pass on the sku # for them. ThankX ....Kevin

Savage is somewhat useless at getting action screws right.. I have had them send me 3 sets ( 2 at my cost) and I still don't have the right ones...

I'm trying to restock a 10FP in a boyds stock and I'm having ZERO luck..

my advice is this bring the origionals to a place like fastenal and tell them you would like to by the same pitch but longer. buy them long and chop them to length then grind a little lead on the cut end. bobs your uncle, done and shooting

I ordered mine directly from savage and only cost a couple bucks.

Just tell them you need the longer action screws and they know what you are talking about.

The ones on the wood stocked guns are longer I believe.

Doh why didn't I think of that any of the 3 times I was talking to them :)

Do you happen to have a measurement and the savage part number? I have 4 different screws and 6 different part numbers most are too short one works for the trigger guard...

Maybe we should start a list..
