Hello,
I’m looking at purchasing a Savage model 110 chambered in 308 and I’m wondering if it’s a long action or short action?

If it's a new rifle, they are all called 110's now and the cartridge will determine the action length, so a 308 110 would be a short action and a 30'06 110 would be a long action.
Gone are the simple days of 10/110 determining the action length.

That’s what I thought as well.
But I don’t think it’s new, and I’m getting conflicting data from a web search.
I’m only going off a picture and the guy don’t know how to measure it.. lol

It’s the gun in the center, top loader.

He can measure the action screw spacing, should be 4.4" for short action.
Looking at the pic, looks like quite an old model and appears to be a long action.

I got him to check it with the 30 06 bolt and it’s the same lenght.
So much for that.
