Savage 110BA

You can't turn a 300 WM into a 338LM just by swapping barrels. The 338 LM uses a larger bolt face and action. You could swap the barrels and have a 338 EDGE though!

The 300 win mag 110BA has a small shank action and the 338 lapua has a large shank action?

Swap the barrel and bolt head. Done.

My savage has a longer action than my rem 700p 338 lapua, and the mags are almost identical except different feed lips and the savage is 3.850" and the remmy is 3.750".

FINALLY got a scope on the gun after waiting for three months. Tried out some 300 grain Bergers last night. Started some load development. All loads were around 1.2 inches and under. One load seated .10 off the lands was .309". Pretty good to start.

CHRONO went to the sky though. It would register my 22 rimfire but not the Lapua????

Has anyone tested the Bergers versus the SMK's in 300gr? *Edit* Since I started this thread I should add that I ended up getting a 110BA in .338. I only shot one box of Hornady 250gr through it so far. Shoots pretty nice, i'm happy with it. I am still waiting on my dies so I can start reloading but I did pick up some 250gr SMK's and SGK's with some US869 and H1000. I got 100 once fired Lapua brass off the EE also. From what i've been reading it seems the 300gr's are a better fit to the twist and barrel legnth though. Experiences??
