 I thought that the 'Mags' had more of a 'COOL' factor
At least, more than the old reliable '06 from 1906

I'm currently torn between these 2 cartridges. From what I've read, researched and experienced, you really can't go wrong with either one. Performance is very similar. 30-06 can handle a slightly bigger bullet, but at a slightly lower velocity. 7RM is a little bit smaller bullet but higher velocity, thus shoots a little flatter. I guess it just comes down to personal preference. For me, I'm going to probably just end up getting whatever ends up costing less (most likely the 06)

300 Win Mag

My son got one in 300 Win mag he changed the rings , kept the scope, I ended up with it, Kicks like a mule it's bit too lite for the calibre. As far as accuracy it's hard to beat, 1 inch groups at a Hundred yds if the man holding it does his part using 180 grn bullets. The use of the sling is madatory unless a person wants scope cuts on his eyebrows.

contrary to popular belief bigger is not always better, No matter how powerful a rifle is if you are scared if its recoils you won't shoot it well and accuracy will suffer.
