Checked one of these out in 270 a few weeks ago. It was the stainless model. Price was real decent on this rifle. Anyone ever shoot one? I have had a savage muzzleloader and really liked the accutrigger. I also really liked the magazine on this savage.
Anyone ever have any problems with these guns?
Seemed to fit me really nice(better then my xbolt or t3)
Thanks

I bought a 114 American in stainless with wooden stock on Friday, with a Vortex Viper 4.5 x 16

Sighted it in with 3 shells, frickin thing shoots laser beams

Many folks dislike Savage rifles, but imo they build one of the best value rifles out there. You very rarely, if ever, hear of one that doesn't shoot well - kind of like a Tika T3 which, curiosly enough, also has plenty of detractors.

Substitute "Remington 788" for "Tikka T3" and you sound like a gunwriter from 1975! The Savage 110 and its variants were always considered accurate, dependable, inexpensive rifles. They were also, IIRC, the first North American maker to offer left-handed rifles, thereby shaming Winchester and Remington into offering the same.

Which one? I wasn't yet reading in 1973!

Just picked up a 7 mm mag. Held this gun at lebarons and felt so right. These are how guns should be made. Priced right too.
