Hey guys,
I recently acquired a Stainless Savage 116 in .223. I know one of the advantages of the Savage design is the relative ease of barrel changes, but I was wondering what else has to change (ie. bolt head?) for a change to .308. I see the parts listed in the manual, so I assume it's possible... I'm afraid I'm a bit of a bolt rifle newb...
Also, isn't the 116 a long action? Why is my .223 built on a long action?
Any help appreciated!
(don't worry, I'm going to shoot it as is first... but I like ammo commonality, and my other favorite is my M-14s
)
Thanks,
Matt
