Hello,

I have a new Savage rifle 116 FCSS (338 win). It's a model with drop box and AccuTrigger.
If I would like a new stock for that, which would you suggest to me for this kind of rifle.

There are no aftermarket stocks available for the new DM action. At least none that won't require work to make it fit. Look at laminates, which may be the easiest to remove material for the magazine.

Or try to find a take-off walnut stock from a 114 model.

One reason I went with a Rem 700 .338 was for the ease of finding a better stock. Ruger, Winchester, Remington, Weatherby, even Browning all have a large selection of aftermarket stocks.

Yup, I own the same in .300 win mag, and after trying to find an aftermarket stock, and being turned down by every manufacturer, I gave up. I hope you put a good after market recoil pad on, as 6.75 pounds isn't much between you and a 250 grain bullet being launched. My .300 kicks like a pissed off mule, I can only imagine what yours feels like. I just bought a .338 win mag Tikka T3 lite, so I am also asking for a severe ####-knocking when that arrives. (I think its actually 6 ounces lighter!!!)
Come to think of it, ONE manufacturer did say he could make a fibreglass stock for the Savage 116(his name/company escapes me now) but of course he was american and good luck with export permits, I just didn't bother.

Hello sgt.rock,

I shot my 338 with 250gr bullet and the recoil is not powerfull. I do not know how old is your rifle but mine has a very soft pad and it make the job very well.
