It has always felt right after putting the action back into the stock; after a bit it gets stiff again (hard to put back on safe). Last time I took the action out I saw the pin holding the trigger group to the action had backed out until the head hit the inside of the stock. The other end is tapered so although it stays in, the pin is then slightly crooked because of the smaller diameter of the tapered end. The crookedness seems to bind up the safety movement. I put some JB Weld on the pin head to bear against the inside of the stock and hold the pin in. My hunting partner has the same rifle in the same caliber and doesn't have this issue; maybe mine was a Friday gun. If anyone else has this issue maybe this will help.
Note: The rifle has hunted for 4 years, approx 800 rounds down range, so not a warrantee issue etc.
